This advantage benefits students who generally take poor notes or are forced to go to extremely large classes by assuring they do not throw important information. One of the most prevalent and potentially problematic disadvantages of the asynchronous environment is the perceive of being disconnected from the group that students may potentially develop.A student that does not feel connected with the class or instructor may lose motivation, interest and ultimately find that learning and retaining the material is nearly impossible. This disadvantage is exacerbated as students feel much and more isolated as time passes and no intervention takes place.
